Southgate, MI The Actuarial Foundation has launched an Advancing Student Achievement (ASA) math mentoring program at Anderson High School. Mentoring opportunities will allow you to: Work with students: Work with AP high school seniors on fun and creative data analysis projects and on a risk assessment project. Participate in innovation: Students, with the help of their actuarial mentors, will work on activities from the Foundation’s math enhancement program, Expect the Unexpected With Math, Shake, Rattle, & Roll. Mentors will help students analyze data using math tools like scatterplots, histograms and tree diagrams. At the end of the year, a week long risk analysis project will take place using the data that is collected through out the year. Work in a fun environment: The school is conveniently located just southeast of Detroit. Actuaries are needed to mentor students in this fun program only one time per month! How to Volunteer
