Indianapolis, IN
Grant: $17,900
The Indianapolis program strives to develop All Saints students' appreciation that mathematics is a skill set necessary for professional achievement and personal well being. The belief that they can master mathematical skills, have command of the 11 essential math skills measured on the ISTEP examinations, gain personal financial literacy and personal technological literacy, and a positive beginning for preparation for secondary school mathematics is the goal.
To reach these objectives, All Saints staff works with the Indianapolis Actuarial Club and parents of All Saints students in the formation of weekly Math Clubs. The Math Clubs activity includes practicing to qualify for the Math Pentathlon Tournament and working on math concepts from the Financial Wizards program. Indianapolis actuaries will utilize computers, Math Pentathlon materials and Financial Wizards' lessons in weekly meetings with students. |
